High Tech Office Friendly office, nice environment. Beachy area, gay friendly staff, good with the animals. They seem to care about their clients, and their patients, and walk each animal by itself while boarding to ensure your pet gets some one-on-one attention time while you are away. PROS: Fair prices, large facility, friendly staff CONS: Near unsightly neighborhoods

Caring and Compassionate I have been going to BCVH since my chocolate lab had 10 puppies over 2 years ago. Never once during this time have I experienced anything except for caring and concern from the staff and especially Dr. G and Dr. H. Both of whom are more than just veterinarians, they are compassionate individuals who have gone out of there way to make sure my family members are well cared for. This was exemplified recently when my oldest puppy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in Septemer 2007. Since the first examinati... read more

Great Care 4 My Lil Girl Blue Cross (esp. Drs. Hicks & Guenther) is great -- I always feel like they have my dog's best interest in mind (unlike another local vet I'd used) and they take the time to explain things/answer all of my questions. Plus, the staff are terrific: knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely caring. I wouldn't take my little angel anywhere else!

Only the Best for our doggie! Since we moved to Signal Hill 2 years ago we have been taking our 12 year old cocker, Freddie, to Dr. Hicks at BC. We have had nothing but the best quality caring and service from Dr. Hicks and the staff. Their follow up is terrific and we have nothing but the utmost in confidence regarding the care of our precious one. Tom and Janet Schleier Signal HIll, Ca.

The Best Vet in town! I used to take my dalmation to a VCA until it actually got ill, and they ultimately did everything they could to kill her except kill her immediately. I was given the wrong medication and they neglected her and it was this which ultimately caused my dog to die. I now take my other dogs to Blue Cross because I don't feel the same negligence to my pets; as a matter of fact, all the employees I've encountered know my dogs immediately when i enter, and the feeling of coming to good friends for help is conve... read more

SCAM Big Fat Fraud!!! I use to take my cats to Blue Cross. I took one of my cats in for an exam (yearly) and the vet told me that she needed her teeth cleaned. So I had them clean her teeth. I took my cat home and two days later she was very very very sick. So I took her back. I saw the SAME vet who cleaned her teeth a few days earlier and the VET said “oh she needs her TEETH CLEANED”!!!!!!! OMG!!! I just had her teeth cleaned not even a week ago. She just left the room. I was horrified!!! She looked in my cats mouth and... read more

for all pet owners When you get a pet, you have to immediately take it to the vet to have it fully examined and have a stool check. i feel bad for the owner of kamir that her pet have feline leukemia. i had a cat with the same thing he died at 3 of a cold. the difference is, is that i took the cat to the vet right away and he was diagnosed and i kept him inside to prevent spreading it. i also had him neutered. and unless it was tapeworms that your pet had, you obviously weren't taking care of your pet if it had other parasit... read more

Two Paws Up for BCVH The level of care I received for my St Bernard at Blue Cross was excellent. Like many others I am immediately suspicious of any operation that will not allow people in their back room and I went to look on my own without permission and I saw a clean, well stocked and managed area. This was my first experience there and it will not be my last. I recently took my dog to a vet nearby because I was upset and in a hurry and failed to read the sign but saw a blue building and assumed it was Blue Cross. I was o... read more
