Edit: Mr. Wong made a big mistake closing down this location. It was one of the best restaurants in the Sioux City area at a pretty affordable price for what you got. I will never go to another BBD again after how they told the employees that they were closing. It was the worst closing I've ever seen. The breakfast platter was unremarkable. Very greasy and the eggs were pre-mixed/blended from a carton, and the sausages were gross. Great service from our waiter, but food wasn't great. The pancakes were the only redeeming part of our food experience.

Had a marginal birthday brunch at Black Bear. My wife ordered a California benedict, without meat or hollandaise. I had a platter with a waffle and eggs over medium. Both our eggs came undercooked. Mine were barely over easy, but edible. Hers were so far undercooked that you could see clear egg whites on top. I flagged down our server and sent them back. They came back with no evidence of being re-cooked, merely having the clear whites wiped off the top. When she cut into them, there was more clear egg white inside. It's sim... read more

My husband loved the pot roast sandwich. Both the cole slaw and the potato salad were surprisingly good! One son had kid's pancakes - he loved them and the side of fruit. Daughter had kid's burger meal, which was large and good. Son had bacon burger basket, great burger. I had club sandwich, good bread, good turkey, plenty of bacon. Nice. Excellent service. Good value.
