We love Dr. Murphy and his staff. They are professional, loving, calm and accommodating. If you need a vet in Lexington, this is where you need to go.
I have never been more disappointed in a staff or place of business as I have been in Birchwood Animal Hospital. We moved to Lexington almost 9 years ago and have been a patient of Dr. Murphy's since he opened. We take both of our dogs to see Dr. Murphy as regular patients. Yesterday, around 3:30pm, my ten, almost 11 year old Lhasa Apso suddenly became violently ill. She began throwing up profusely, had no control of her mobility and was screaming in pain. The office is so friendly and helpful and Warlow loves them all! They never make you feel ridiculous for worrying about something no matter how minor! They even recommended a boarding lodge for him that he gets so excited to go to!
Dr Murphy is a top notch veterinarian. He is always knowledgeable; stays up to date on new research, procedures and treatments; is compassionate and very calm and connected in demeanor both with humans and pets; and an excellent diagnostician. In addition to my personal pets I rescue dogs and cats and have had exposure to many veterinarians - he is one of the best I have ever been to.
Love Birchwood! Dr. Murphy and his staff are so nice! Very professional! Visits aren't rushed & their fees are extremely reasonable! We are so glad we found them!

Great to have such a kind and caring Vet for my Lily Belle. I came from a large practice with almost a different doctor every time. Not only did they not remember my dog or me, they could not see the dramatic differences in her over the last couple of years of her life. I love the fact that Dr. Murphy not only remembers my dog and me, but also my daughter and her Bella Mae, as well.
