The space is quite large with plenty of seating and a fast Wi-Fi connection. The soup is also homemade daily with local, seasonal ingredients. Try the daily special with one of their many sandwiches. Afternoons see a brisk takeout business and a throng of parents with children, while evenings are lit by the glow of laptops. On some weekends, live music events are also organized ... read more

I love this place! Awesome clam chowder and sandwiches, in house pasteries and pies. Highly caffeinated drip coffee. Not sure if it is organic. If not, that would be my only down. This is hands down the best coffee shop in Portland. Pete and Hobie and the rest of the staff put their heart and soul into the cafe and it shows. It is warm, real, authentic, cozy and down home. Come in for the great coffee and pie...and stay for the great atmosphere and political debate.
