Do yourself a favor and NOT stay here!!!! We booked the Dwyer House for a weekend trip and when we arrived at a little after 4pm we noticed the air conditioning didn’t work, we waited 2 hours for someone to come look at it only to be told the unit needed to defrost and even then it may not work. The hotel did not have enough rooms at the main building to accommodate our party so they gave us 2 choices, either stay at the Dwyer house with NO air conditioning at at the weekday rate or we could leave... Classy, well decorated tavern, prices are typical and the service was excellent. Well prepared for the COVID-19 requirements we sat at the bar (2 big chairs in between patrons) and had the calamari and the gouda cheese melt fiklowed by a bowl (its BIG! so be hungry if you order this) of seafood chowder and French onion soup that were delicious. Definitively a must stop if you are in the area.
All of these great reviews and i wish i could agree, but unfortunately i had a terrible experience. it was my first time there, and we were booked to stay at the dwyer house for the weekend. upon arrival, roughly 4:30pm, we noticed our air conditioner was not working. we called for maintenance several times and it took an hour and a half to have someone finally come down. they said the unit was frozen and would take 3-4 hours to thaw, and they weren’t sure if it work even after it thawed. we called the front and they offered... read more
