Great Service I was in town for a wedding and was in desperate need of a camera battery charger. Bel-Air was recommended by the people at best buy. A girl came up to me and asked if I needed repairs. I said no, but I really needed a charger. She and another guy she called for looked and tested and made sure I walked out of there with the exact charger I needed! I now have some beautiful pictures of my very good friend getting married.
Life Savers So this place kind of saved my life, well my career, well my hobby/career kind of thing. I do semi pro photography, sports, head shots, etc and I had a gig last weekend and my telephoto died...basically it is a $900 paper weight; I don't use the most popular brand of cameras so I was calling around everywhere looking to rent a telephoto that fit my body...nobody had it but these guys. Customer for life! This place has more camera accessories than you would know what to do with, and you're going to want to try them all. Great supplies for photographers, and they offer a wide variety of cameras and film. They really cover the whole spectra of the art of the photograph. By far the best place to go in the Westwood Village.
I'll keep coming back. I will not bore you with a lot of words. What I will say is that Bel-Air Camera is the best camera store I have ever dealt with.The staff is very friendly and patient. They know their craft. I have been a satisfied customer for a couple of years now. I no longer live in LA, but when I make my next camera purchase, it will be at Bel-Air Camera.
Superior Customer Service I've been in the photographic industry for 5 years now, and I was in the market for the new Canon 7D. I live in Silver Lake, so my first stop was Samys due to its location. Samys was out of 7Ds, but I could tell the sales person was desperate to close the sale before I left the shop. While on a break yesterday I had the opportunity to check out Bel Air Camera for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised at the large darkroom section stocked with an impressive assortment of papers and chemistry It has to be about the largest darkroom dept. in L.A. with the exception, maybe, of Freestyle in Hollywood. First Rate Service I was in the store this past Saturday. When I first walked in I was warmly greeted, first by the security man and then a sales clerk. He asked how can he help me and I indicated that I wanted to purchase the Canon T1i 2-lens kit in their advertisement. After checking around and verifying that there were none in stock, the clerk said I can make the purchase now with the current rebates and no sales tax offer and then the store will call me when the kit arrives. I LOVE this place! Bel Air Camera is the best camera shop I have ever set foot in. I go to UCLA and frequent this place. I can see all the latest cameras and equipment, get all of my questions answered and even rent the stuff I can't afford to buy with a student discount! It's a pretty big, knowledgeable staff almost everyone knows everything. David has been pretty good, Melvin knows old school cameras and lighting, Barry seems to know a lot, Amelia is SUPER in Rental. I LOVE this place!
Very Helpful Staff I went in yesterday for their free digital SLR class and got interested in a new Zeiss lens for my Canon. Problem was I could afford a lens that nice. They called Barry over, I think he is the manager, he knows EVERYTHING about camera and video gear but is not arrogant about it.
