Our car was getting serviced @ Nissan exactly a mile away & my lady gave me $20 to get breakfast anywhere I wanted since it was my birthday! I choose "The Barn"! I walked the mile! Mmmmmmmmm Good choice! I had Country Fried Steak, home fried potatoes, eggs, toast, and the best for last, Dutch Apple pie a la mode! Oh boy, they make the best pies! Now I had to walk the mile back. What a great 69th birthday gift babe!
So yummy! My husband had the biscuits and gravy which was home made and excellent. I had pancakes and bacon and both were perfect. Waitress was excellent, our coffee cups always full and she even talked us into pie with ice cream at 9:30 am. Excellent. Go try it the next time you're in town.
First time here.. Been coming to Brainerd for years. Finally stopped in and we weren't disappointed..food was awesome and service was great.. We had breakfast and ate all of it.. Will be back again..
I agree it was tasty. BUT...almost $15 bucks for two loose meat sandwiches and two fries? Too pricey for what you get in my opinion.
Glad they re opened from their fire. It looks great inside too. Food is always great. I only get the maid rites and they're awesome! And the waitresses are great love their sarcasm and friendly service at the same time! Keep it up!
If you are driving anywhere in Northern Minnesota stop at this wonderful diner. Welcoming, lovely, delicious, fun - quintessential America. They have buttermilk pie (my first experience with this unbelievable deliciousness), coconut cream to drive two hours for, and apple raspberry to dream about at night. The folks at the Barn are friendly and open-hearted. They made us feel wanted and welcome. I am staying in Brainerd for a writers-work-week, and this pie is my fuel!
My wife and I really enjoyed it. We'll be going back.
