Currently, I am unemployed and the EDD has issued a card with Bank of America. I am literally at the mercy of this card and this known for profit banking company. Recently, they have suspended funds transfers online and they have been down for more than a week with no date and time for "fix". I feel that these guys are forcing people to use the card so they can make their profit. Their customer service really is horrible. How can a company be a financial institution and be so callous when it's concerning someone's money is taken without their permission?! When you ask for more identifiable information to file a complaint they'll only provide their first name and state. This is unacceptable because we aren't 100% certain we're getting the correct name and location in the first place or information in the first place. I was treated like trash just recently. I have long since moved from my residence in NC where I opened my account. I am currently in Pittsburgh where there is one atm in the entire area about 1 hour from my residence. I had to open another account with PNC to do effecient banking. Recently, my account was overdrawn in April. I was not able to get the funds to replace till May. I tried to deposit a check for the full amount to cover the cost. I had to deal with BOA on a distribution of a 401k and pension plan for my parents who had passed away in an automobile accident. The attitude,lack of communication, and lack of professionalism was appalling. I am writing this review a full YEAR after the case has been closed because this still leaves me with bad feelings and I think about the mishandling of this case often. I have had a business account for several years and ** account has been compromised over 6 times- twice for cards that had not yet been mailed from the BOA headquarters. I have considerable concerns about the integrity of this business.

Bank of America is AWFUL!!!! Constantly charging fees and not doing what they say they will do (in ** case freeze one of ** accounts that was compromised) and their tellers do NOT make notes in the system each time you speak with them, therefore the next phone call with them makes you seem like you are making up information as there is nothing backing you stating what the other calls have entailed. I went to branch to close accounts I didn't need and they told me to schedule an appointment. I scheduled and appointment only to have them tell me to call customer service "Because that's all we do here anyway." By the time I was able to get customer service on the line during my half hour lunch break they had charged fees on both the accounts I'd been trying to close for weeks. I refused to pay the fees so they charged be five dollars "Because they HAVE TO SEND ME A BILL." I ended up paying almost $25 to close the accounts... read more
