Poisonous food and bad service? – Last night I was eating with my family. Our meals were decent but not as great as they have been in the past. It took forever for our server to even notice we were there. We don't eat the sushi because of the mercury content., and boy was I thankful we didn't last night. No Guilt, but little glory – I've been looking forward to trying Bamboo Sushi ever since I first learned that a sustainable sushi restaurant was opening in Portland. We finally made it, and just in time. The happy hour brings a big crowd, and the dinner crowd is even larger. We were quickly seated, and had excellent service. First time, Found the second great sushi place in PDX – Nice place, crowded even on a Monday night, which is unusual, but shows one thing - this is a well-liked place. Excellent selection of Sake. Nice menu, the certified fish and food sources is a comforting addition, and from what I read in the Oregonian, is the only sushi restaurant in the US that provides this. Amazing sushi Bamboo has first class sushi and Japanese dishes. They are an expensive restaurant, but worth a splurge if that's what you want.
freshest fish, and feel good too Delicious sushi! One of the only sushi restaurants in this country that attempts to source ethical fish. Delicious!

sustainable bad food – This is an example of a good idea tasting bad...After reading an article in PDX mag about this place I was all excited about going somewhere new and seeing what this sustainable sushi bar was all about. The interior decoration is amazing, the staff seemed distracted, the (sustainable?)sushi was obviously prepared by an ameteur, it was falling apart and our wait at the sushi bar was way too long for our food.
Food was to die for... – I'm new to Portland, and am excited to check out its sushi world. bamboo was highly recommended so we came in to check it out. Love the sustainability and high quality fish.
