Great for Special Occassions – Bacchanalia is a step above most of Atlanta's top. Not only is the chef constantly changing the menu to create innovative and fresh meals, but between each course you are given "gifts from the chef," tastings the kitchen is developing. No it's not a value meal, so if you're out for supersized portions or cheap prices go somewhere else.

not worth it! – The most overrated restaurant in town! Service is slow, the food is bland, and the atmosphere boring! I was surprised at how expensive the meal was ($ 300+ for two of us, wine included), being that I did not feel there was much use of outstanding products or creativity of the chef. What a bummer after hearing all those great things........

A must try....once – Great restaurant. Everyone should try it, once. However, with so many Atlanta restuarants it is not quite worth returning to. We waited over 30 minutes past our reservation time, but the service was impeccable. The small treats in between meals were incredible. My only real complaint is that there were not enough entree choices. My first course (crab fritter) and dessert (cheescake)were incredible, but my main course (fennel/artichoke bass) and cheese course (arugula and pecorino) were not that great. Ov... read more

Best of The Best – Having dined at most Atlanta restaurants, I believe that Bacchanalia takes the cake. For all of the "foodies" out there, I highly recommend that you try it. The menu is so creative serving only the best, most exotic ingredients. The service, which is very important to me, is sharp and attentive but undisturbing. The chefs store "Star Provisions" in the front of the restaurant has a great cheese selection...as well as many other home and kitchen items. I have been a fan of Bacchanalia since they were locate... read more

Yup. As good as advertised – FYI, you can also sit at the bar and watch them cook. Sometimes, depending on how busy they are, they will let you order a la carte and avoid the prix fix.

Fantastic! – Great food, but rather pricy. Did not like the look inside, kind of like a 70's elementary school room.

Way average... – Ok, this place gets a lot of national rating and dramatic reviews. But the facts are otherwise: it's way average. I have eaten there three times, one in the old location (which at least had character) and twice in the new one (which is outdone by like 100 restaurants in Atlanta). Service, like teh food is mediocre. The shop in front is cool, however. This place is FAR from the best of Atlanta. Steaks are average; seafood portions are small; flavors are not spectacular. And I mean, the location: can't a suppo... read more

Fantastic – The service was great, food was wonderful, and the wine was paired very well by our server. We have been there twice and have been very happy both times.

not midtown – Bacchanalia is not a midtown restaurant. Sure it's good, arguably one of the better special occasion restaurants in town. But it's not a "true" midtown restaurant. Nor does it reflect the personality of midtown. Bacchanalia is stuffy and and severe. The staff is not especially warm. There's no sense of the energy of the city you would expect to find in a midtown restaurant. It's a great spot, but arguably it belongs back in buckhead where it's snootiness and stuffiness blended right in.
