Great Blazer Bar – A great place to watch a Blazer game. Always a good crowd, fun and energetic. Don't talk to peter, he's a blazer hater. once you stop in, you'll find yourself going back again. Great beer selection, stiff drinks. Diverse crowd. 6 flat screens for sports. Salsa dancing on sat. is always fun. Brazilian night is a must see.
Bad Bad Bad! – We were in Portland for business and Aztec Willies was recommended as a good place to eat on Broadway, it wasn’t. This is the absolute worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. We entered the restaurant and went to the “buffet” to order our food. They had all of the standard accompaniments sitting in the warming pans on the cafeteria style serving bar and a menu on the wall that you order from. I ordered the Chile Relleno dinner which includes refried beans, Spanish rice and chips (with no salsa). I also ordered ... read more
Super fun if you want to dance – I'm new to Portland (lived here almost a year now) and this was one of the first places I went out for dancing. We tried the Greek Cusina this night, but they had a horrible DJ. I was with a small bachelorette party, and we had a blast. Very nice (personality & looks) door guy and bartender. You have to want to dance when you go there though. You WILL get asked, which I think is great. Every girl in our group got asked to dance and we were all different ages different looking etc. Some of the... read more
Annoyed with Service – Little things annoy me, big things tick me off. So let's just say I am slightly annoyed. How hard is it to get what you order or ask for anymore? It seems almost impossible anymore...something is always missing from an order or not done as ordered. Any job, regardless of what it is, is a job worth doing well. So with that said, I paid almost $10 for a fajiata dinner, to go, and when I got into the bag I notices a very essential item missing from the meal...the tortillas. So basically I ended up with st... read more
I kind of hate to recommend this place...but – I'm guessing this place has changed owners a few times - and if so - at least one of them was a j erk. When i first moved here (95) this place was great. I was 23 and lots of other cool youngsters like me came there after work thru the lloyd area. Its died down...a lot. but its still a nice place in several regards. The outdoor seating right on 15th is still a sentimental happy place for me. Their marguaritas on the rocks are not great, but they're not half bad. Try their brazil... read more
Great Mexican food, spacious and comfy, kid friendly...LOVE IT! – I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years and I only recently started to go to Aztec Willy's. Honestly I can't think of why I didn't go sooner, it might have been the goofy name or because my husband says we should only go to the "authentic" places on Alberta. But there is no reason stay away! The food is great, a combination of traditional northern Mexican items and Tex-Mex, the prices are very reasonable, and the space itself is really really cool! Good de... read more
Never go here, keep South for Cha Cha Cha's – I don't normally write reviews for the places I go, but I don't know why anyone would give a good review for this restaurant. Based on those reviews, my boyfriend and I went there at 3pm the other day. You know, lunch time or thereabouts. We were extremely disappointed--nay, sickened! We ordered a Salvadorian Relleno Wrap and a Chicken Chili Relleno and Enchilada and watched with despair as the man serving us scooped our food out of bins and placed it next to items he'd taken fro... read more
make it and shake it – Saturday nights at Aztec Willie's is a must for anyone who is willing to learn Salsa...it is also a wonderful venue to show off your skillful moves, it's a great scene for anyone. I feel safe going there by myself, there's a really fun and respectful atmosphere that welcomes all kinds of patrons. I've only had one meal and found the food to be tasty, nothing to write home about but nothing to turn away either. Their chips are homemade, the salsas are good, they have some healthy options for dieting peo... read more
Great Atmosphere, but with fast food stylins. – The food here is served up similar to the way they make your sandwich at Subway. There's a great selection of beans, etc - but it is what it is. More like slow fast food than a place to go and savor your meal. The little sports bar is cute, and the atmosphere has always been great too. No complaints there.
