I reserved a hatchback ("Kia Soul or similar"), and I called to confirm that I would get the type of car that I reserved. After arriving and signing the paperwork, the clerk showed me to a beat up compact car that was too small for my needs. I ordered and paid for my Avis car rental online. They scanned my debit card. I was told I would have to pay a deposit at pickup because of the debit card. No problem. I arrived at Ohare Airport and took a shuttle to the car rental building. The building is huge and there was one person in the entire building. I finally found the only employee after taking an elevator and escalator and finally finding him at the Budget Car counter and prayed that he would also take care of Avis. On 3/25/2021 I called to make a reservation with Avis with a deal I found online "pay now." My reservation was for $620.82, as I received an email that day. I called on 4/26/2021 to ask if they offered a Mayo Clinic employee discount, they do, but for some reason it was more than what I had already paid. The person I spoke with told me, there was a change made to my reservation on 4/19/21, I never made a change. Worst rental service in the business. I booked a reservation. They charged my card twice. I called to speak with customer service they informed me the charges will be placed back on my card 3/5 business days. 5 days later still no refund. Called customer service back. Spoke with a very rude agent who was very hostile and I felt like I wasn't a valued customer. Still no refund after 10 days. Stay away from avis rental car company.

We rented a vehicle number ******** at the Raleigh NC Avis on 4-17 at 12:35. The contract stated incorrectly 12:11. The rental agent made a notation of the actual time on the contract. Upon receiving the car I noticed scratches in the paint, cigarette burns in the seat and a dent in the drivers door. I pulled around went back inside and asked for a different car due to damages and cigarette smell. I was told there were no other cars and to take photos, which I did. Ârented a car from you guys on April 11-15 at Houston airport. I not happy with what i went through.i get in my rental car there is alot of cars lined up to headout to exit the parking lot. You have 3 check points in this lot there is 1 person at a check point when you have 2 check points closed. It took me 20 til 25 minutes to get out to head towards my destination. Very deceiving cancellation policy if prepaid in full. I booked a rental car, cancelled at the same day, and was charged a $50 non-refundable cancellation fee. What's more annoying is the cancellation fee could be refunded as credit if the rental data is before 4/30/2021 but not after. So I booked advance but got worse treatments than last-minute rental bookings.

We rented a car through Avis for a vacation, booking two months in advance. At the time of check out our bill was approximately $500. As the date approached we were notified they would no longer be honoring our reservation amount, claiming we had changed something about the reservation, which we had not.
