I booked a 1 day round trip rental through Avis Baltimore-Washington International Airport. However, when I called this morning to get my drop off location switched to a location closer to where I am staying I received the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The guy I was on the phone with had an attitude with me because he was having trouble looking up my information. My experience with Avis today with some thing that really I thought was a joke at first and someone would jump out and say surprise you're on television I'll just give a quick synopsis... weekly prepaid car... show up at airport 10 minutes early no one there and door locked cannot find anyone anywhere finally a man walks by and says look on the door there may be a phone number I see the little note with a phone number call the phone number no answer leave a message 10 minutes later I get a cal... read more

Not reliable at all! Booked and paid for a vehicle March 15 for our vacation July 10,2021. Received a text and email from Avis confirming our reservation a couple days before our pick up, but the day I was supposed to pick up vehicle they called informing me they didn't have a vehicle for me Had to take two vehicles- 2 adults and 4 children. Customer service here is subpar. No clear information on how they charge you. Tell you you're being charged one price. Then only hold so much of that price, until they charge you a full price that you agreed to. All while holding funds after being paid in full and you can never get any help on the phone. I was given a vehicle that desperately needed tires, to the point when I went to return it, one went completely flat from dry rot and wear and tear. I will never rent with avis again. Avis customer service has been absolutely terrible. We rented a car only to have it break down prior to our destination. We were told that we would be compensated for us being stranded at Hoover dam. In 119° weather. I have talked to several people customer service and no one seems to know what they are doing. All I want is what was promised to me. I would not recommend Avis to anyone. It just stinks that I travel for work and I use Avis exclusively and I have been treated absolutely terribly.
