Picked up a transit van from the Lexington, KY airport on Wednesday, February 10th at 8 a.m. No one was there to show me to my car, check it out with me, etc. I had to go inside to the Avis counter and they handed me the key. I got in the van and drove home. We needed to leave town immediately ahead of the ice/snow storm. When we opened the car to start loading, we found empty pop bottles, coffee cups, an unvacuumed cargo area, gum and Nicolette wrappers in the door cubbies and drink holders. Avis literally stole my money. Six months after my rental, they charge my card for tail light damage. The lens was broken when I picked up the car, which was understood by the representatives when I dropped the car off. I wrote them to get the money credited back, including photos (time stamped at the time of the rental pickup) of their own location with their own representative pointing at the damage. I rented. Car at Las Vegas Airport the weekend of 2/11. I was given a new Mazda Cx9. I parked overnight at my hotel and the next morning the car was dead. I attempted to contact customer service and was transferred to roadside assistance. They sent a service tech to jump the vehicle and I was told this is a common problem for these cars/batteries. Avis is unreliable when it comes to respecting your time money and needs. I reserved a suv last year. My husband picks up a van. I asked to get it adjusted because is not an suv of any kind. They honestly just threw the book at me about their policies and how my money was way more important than my experience as a customer. I've rented car with them for years I've ALWAYS had problems. Not an honest company. I suggest paying the extra money to rent a car from another rental agency to avoid being taken advantage of from the Avis/Budget company. I locked the keys inside the car right outside the Avis/Budget office as I was returning the car. I went inside the office and asked them what the best solution would be. They said to call the Avis/Budget Roadside Assistance number. Charged for unauthorized service and rented a vehicle with an expired quality inspection!!! Horrible experience!

Thanks to Budget, I had to cancel my debit card! Flew into Houston, TX, USA at 11 PM January 10, 2021. Got to the Budget counter around 11:20 PM, which was closed. Thankfully, someone working the counter at Avis yelled at me. When I got to the counter a line formed behind me. I was busy securing my vehicle (I made the reservation in advance) when the other employee hollered at the folks behind me that the only vehicle left was a 12 passenger van, some of them had reservations-so lucky me, I at least got my vehicle right? I rented a vehicle from Avis. 3 weeks later I received a letter claiming damage to the vehicle and they pulled $600 out of my account with NO proof given. When I called and asked what damage, I was told they didn't know what I was talking about.
