Thank you to the kind folks who came to catch the injured Canadian goose in our yard. It is now on its way to Avian Haven to hopefully rehabilitate.

I think they are the best people ever, with helping our injured feathered friends, especially with larger birds and owls, they are my passion. But they will assist all birds in crisis, doesn't get any better than that. Help them when I can. Thank you all at AH !

MARC AND DIANE, THANK YOU BOTH FOR TAKING THE CANADA GOOSE THIS EVENING ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE. PATTY AND I HAVE TRIED FOR TWO MONTHS TO CATCH HER IN OUR LARGE DOG KENNEL. THE GOOSE'S RIGHT WING WAS BADLY BROKEN AND WE KNEW WE HAD TO CATCH HER BEFORE STEVEN'S POND ICED OVER. WE KNOW THE GOOSE IS IN THE HANDS OF VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE. WE DIDN'T NAME HER. I DO KNOW THE GOOSE SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND THAT PATTY AND I WERE THERE TO HELP HER AFTER SHE WAS CAUGHT. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR THE WILD BIRDS OF MAINE.

They do wonderful work with all the birds that are brought in to them. They truly work hard to treat and rehabilitate any animal to the best of their ability. They have a support system involving volunteers who often pick up an injured bird and transport it to them if needed. I would love to have that system where I live. I would definitely be a volunteer.

I spent a few hours with a lost loon in August, and made a promise to the chick that we would save it. At the time, I did not know about Avian Haven and the incredible work they do to ensure birds get another chance at living a wild life. The website is fabulous and has convinced me that this facility is professional in every conceivable way. Although I only spent a small amount of time with this bird, I feel deeply attached to it and Avian Haven's updated stories and pictures has been a wonderful connection for me. With gre... read more
