I called to make an emergency appointment for my gecko they told me they are too small of a clinic to take in emergency patients even though it's posted on their stupid website that they take emergencies. this is after being charged $89 and then finding out they won't be able to do anything such a waste of time. Don't call them ever!

RecommendedAfter being stern about going to Avian Medical Center for so many years, I couldn't get my parrotlet in soon enough, so I made an appointment with Avian and Exotic. We've been bringing our bearded dragon, Max, here for two years now. Dr. Harrenstein and her staff are worth every penny. They have helped us with so many things, the most recent being an infection somewhere in our bearded dragon. Dr. Harrenstein called on the phone to speak with us before our appointment since we wouldn't be able to get in for a couple days, then set about an extensive treatment plan to help Max, including video instructions for us to inject fluid and antibiotics into him at home. This place is amazing.. We have taken our first bunny (Hopper) here more than a few times and when we got our second bunny, (Tippy) yep we took her here as well.. Their level of care is beyond anyone else. They help you understand what you may not know about how to take care of our precious exotic fur babies! I highly recommend this place and if I could give 100 stars I would! Thank you so much! (I know we are due for a visit.. we will come soon!)
The lady doctor at the hospital is extremely kind and nice. She saw my Mealy Amazon parrot at Sunday. My Amazon parrot never acted this gentle with any other doctor. The doctor is very kind and gentle. I am so grateful to the doctor for being so nice with us and that such a nice medical center for avians exists at Portland. This is an invaluable organization and I am so happy that I found this. Thank you so much for being so nice and kind with my Mealy Amazon parrot and with me. We are very grateful.
