Great cut and color for all ages. – I am writing this review for my Mom Nell who is in NYC visiting. She recently got a cut/color from Harley and was thrilled with the results. Everyone agree that her hair is FINALLY the perfect color and got fantastic cut that is flattering and that suits her face. Carly has left Shampoo Avenue B! – I used to have my haircut at Oscar Bond salon, and followed her when she started st Shampoo. ALthough the salon was nice, it was small and kinda out of the way for me to get to. THANK GOD she moved again and is now working at DE DERARDINI'S. Its on 21st between 6th and 7th and close to so many trains. I went there once already and it is def s step up. They serve wine and espresso and gave a wonderful scalp massage at the shampoo bowl. Best hair Stylist Ever "KARUNA" – When you visit this place definitely ask for Karuna. She is a goddess of this type of art. You will come in with your idea and ideology of perfection, but soon enough you will find something you would never expect from yourself to emerge trough her hands.
Hmmmm – I love this place!!! I was just reading all the wonderful reviews and saw a negative review that i just HAD to negate! I find it hard to believe that ANYONE at Shampoo Ave b could be rude. I have been going to Daniel for color and cuts since it opened and they all treat me like family. I have sent 6 of my friends in and they all continue to go because it is indeed attitude free and a pleasure. If you think relaxed and unpretentious is rude then you should get your hair done on the upper east side.
STILL loving my hair! – I went to see Daniel in September for the Brazilian treatment - I am STILL loving it. Thank you Daniel - I think about you every morning when it takes me all of 4 minutes to dry my hair straight. Having had 2 japanse treatments a few years ago, I think Brazilian is the way to go. Granted my hair has grown in a lot, but the majority is still super easy to straighten, and the big benefit is that it looks great curly when I air dry. brazilian i loved !!!!! – well lets start about the reviews below , i was at shampoo this week for my brazilian and haircut my hair fells great that never looked better before . i'm so glad that i meet Daniel, he's was really nice with me was knowledgeable about the process . So anyway I'll definitely be back. Pros: Professional, aware of the newest treatment . Daniel's really know's what he's doing !!!!
Rockin Hair Cut! – I just got a great haircut. The salon was a bit busy and I had to wait a while. I was getting frustrated until my name was called and I was escorted to the back by Harley (the owner) Within 5 minutes I had forgotten all about the wait and I began to feel very comfortable. Harley appoligized for the delay and it doesn't matter now anyway. All that matters is my new haircut. Yeow! Thank you!
Not a great cut - and expensive – I went in with a great cut that had just gotten long. I asked for a trim - lift the back and slight trim on the rest. I showed two photographs of the exact style I wear. Keep the top layers long and pointed out the backwards wave on the sides - which create wings if it's too short. You guessed it. I left looking like a flying angel with giant wings out the side, the top layers lifted by multiple inches. And payed a small fortune for this. Live and learn
