Two strikes and I'm out... – The first time I went to Shampoo I had a great experience. Great haircut and not too expensive. About two months later I was ready for another cut. I called the salon at 1pm and made the appointment for 4pm. The receptionist told me it was no problem. So I made my way from midtown to the East Village on one of the hottest days of the summer and arrive right at 4. Utterly frustrating – I arrived promptly for a 6pm appointment. A receptionist looked at the book and told me I had cancelled. ?? After discussion in a different language, the manager stated that they had made sure that it was me and they cancelled the appointment-five minutes after I made the original appointment. I asked how they made sure (because I hadn't cancelled) and she had no answer. I suggested that probably someone else with my same appointment cancelled and was told no. Great Salon, Cool Tunes, and Awesome Staff!!!!!!!! – When I walked into Shampoo Avenue B I didn?t know what type of haircut I wanted. My hair can be difficult at times to deal with and I wanted something that looked great and was easy to manage. Harley knew exactly the type of haircut that would suite me and he delivered. Amazing highlights and the best hair cut I've ever had. – This place rocks! Great tunes & cool people. My appoinmnet was with Harley, not only is he a really cool guy, but he is also a gifted stylist. My highlights were beautiful and I have never had a better hair cut. My experinace here was more than I expected.

Friendly, Fabulous, Funky and Fair Prices – I found this salon by walking past on a neighborhood errand. That was two haircuts, a couple of referrals and three color appointments ago. I'm hooked! The best salon in lower manhattan – The first time I visted Shampoo I wasnt quite sure what I wanted to do but they provided me with a variety of up to date look books as well as a cup of coffee. I ended up letting the stylist steer me in a direction based on his opinion of what would look best for my skin tone and face shape. I was a bit nervous but ended up loving it and now I won't go anywhere else. Like a Work of Art. – I've never reviewed anything online before, but i thought i should really let people know how wonderful this place is. I went in looking to spice up a bland shoulder-lenght cut, asked for something natural and easy to maintain (i'm not big on product or frequent costly haircuts), but that had some real edge. Alphabet City salon with a rock-n-roll atmosphere that's attitude-free. – Guitar riffs echo onto the sidewalk outside this rocking sliver of a salon; the sound intensifies inside where a giant, spray-painted logo and funky paintings by local artists communicate the non-traditional vibe. Saved me from a terrible haircut. Miracle worker. – I walked through the doors and the first words out of my mouth were "Help!"
