Hair by Mark Ritchie – One of the hair stylists, Mark Ritchie, is probably the best colorist I have ever been to. Everywhere I go, people remark on my color and ask who did it and where. The staff at Avalon are very friendly and efficient - I cant recommend either Ritchie or the salon highly enough.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Deborah. She did a great job on my Japanese Hair Straightening. She is so knowledgeable about the process and it shows. I love how my hair looks. I would highly recommend Deborah for this process as well as cut and color.

A perfect gem! – I have followed NICK for over 15 years. His home at Avalon is superb. He offers great service, superb precise cuts and color, and is always a pleasure to see! I have sent many friends to him, men and women, who have always been blown away (literally) by how good his cuts are. Do yourself a favor and book your next cut/color with NICK at Avalon. The Spa is a terrific West Village spot, on a great street. Grab a bite in the neigborhood to make the perfect day.

Thermal Hair Straightening: Deborah Novick – Deborah did an incredible job on my hair. Avalon is lucky to have one of the top people for this process in their salon. She helped develop the products, trains salons in this complex process, and brings talent and integrity to her work. She is a 5 star recommendation.

If you have curly hair, go see RICKY – I have very curly and slightly unruly hair. I was hesitant to make a drastic change but knew I needed something. Ricky consulted with me and was very professional, helped me weigh my options, and didn't pressure me at all. When I did cut it, he did a very good job. Ricky is very talented and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend seeing him without hesitation.

Liz ~ My waxer for life!! – I finally found a great brazilian waxer. I have highly recommended her to all my friends & they all agree ... SHE'S GOOD! :) I needed a last minute waxing one day before a trip and Liz wasn't available so I went to OLGA. She was also fantastic!!

EXPERIENCE ANTONIO!!!! – I have been going to Avalon Spa for three years now! I get my haircut and color done with ANTONIO. I look forward to my appt every 5 weeks! He is an amazing colorist and stylist. He has done my friends weddings and the experience just being with him is amazing. He truly makes you feel beautiful inside and out!. Russel the owner has done a great job at truly making sure everyone at Avalon treats you like family. If you haven't been GO, GO, GO! Bad Haircut – I made an appointment with Ricky for highlights and a cut after my friend recommended him. The highlights looked fine but once he started cutting my hair I quickly realized he had no idea what he was doing. I told him to layer my hair and thin it out a bit. When I walked out of there my hair was cut very unevenly and not thinned out at all. Ricky told me I could come back if I didn't like it, which I did. The next day I explained him what was wrong with the cut but instead of improving it he only made it worst.... read more

not happy – I saw Svetlana previously and she was great. I made the mistake of seeing somebody else, newer, today. She left wax on me, not bothering to use the removal cream. My clothes were sticking to me. She was fast but so fast she left it lopsided, which is absurd and embarassing. If I go back, and I probably won't, I won't make the mistake of seeing any random person again.
