I love this place but some stuff is just crazy, like $1000 for a brake job C'mon. IDK VeeDub but they do have awesome service and massive inventory. It's your one stop VeeDub Shop!
Darryl is THE best service guy ever!
PURE TEXAS and VW Meet for a one of a kind VW shop – I have had great experiences in the service center and most recently at the body shop with Jaun. When you own VW machines you dream of a place like this so you never have to set foot in a dealer service center at ($90+ per hr for VW dealer rate). My van was dinged up in the front near a lot of the relays and battery related fuses and Jaun went the extra mile for me to repair everything and when Progressive asked him to use salvaged electric parts he fought to put new parts... read more
Ten Stars For Austin VEE Dub – Austin Vee Dub is a ten on our scale! They are honest, fair, attentive and do great work, too! They stand behind their work and "Darryl" is an angel-no fluffy, white wings protrude from his shirt, but trust me he is trustworthy and fair to deal with. We live 70 miles from them and will always turn to them first for repairs. If you have a VW, Volvo, or Audi, that needs TLC Austin Vee Dub is the place to go. Thank you Vee Dub, Darryl, Sam and all!
Horrible. Incompetent. Dishonest. Shifty. – Darrel, the "service manager" hates Vanagons. When I first bought my Vanagon I paid them good money to inspect the car and perform a few other repairs. Since then I have learned to fix my own car. I have found that they did not do the repairs they said they did and the repairs they did do have since failed. And the "buyer's inspection" they did missed so many things they should have caught including a very dangerous brake system. Darrel is very, very lazy and shifty. I hate to say ... read more
Soooo glad i found this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – I had the hardest time finding a good mechanic to work on my jetta. I went through 3 mechanics and none of them could tell me what was wrong with it. Last resort, i callled up veedub and spoke with Daryl and right from the start he knew what he was talking about and told me to come in as soon as possible. disappointed with service – I heard good things and was expecting more. Instead I got charged twice the estimate and no clear explanation of why. I brought in my old air cooled type I for a header install and was told that "when we talked on the phone, I didn't know you wanted the whole rear exhust done..." As anyone who knows anything about exhusts knows, there is the engine then the headers and then the muffler...thats it...there is no "rear exhust". I knew I should have just done it myself, but I had heard good things....... read more
Veedub rocks! – I had new tires ordered for my VW Jetta..they were there in a matter or days and I was called as soon as they got in. I drove my car in and my new tires were put on and balanced PERFECTLY in No time at all. All...while I waited in a nice waiting room with internet connected computer and t.v! Hooow niiiice! The guys are super nice there and made sure I was all taken care of.
Friendly Staff – So I made a mistake and did a little damage to my pretty little Jetta. I called up Charles Maund to see what they could do to help me. The service woman sounded offended that I should even think to speak to her. I got on Citysearch, found other Austin VW Body Repair shops and that's how I came to Austin Veedub.
