This was the third dance I attended in Austin area since I was visiting from Out of town. Dance floor was big and nice, instructor was really good and beginners got a intermediate move. The music was spot on. As far as the dance their were way more women than men and out of the men thier were four that were in intermediate level. I was glad to see women asking others to dance but found myself bored. I was really hoping to see the westie crowd represented but only saw two at GoDance north and one at go dance south. Hilary Carlson, Jake and Darren are two levels beyond awesome! Janie Keys and I have been taking ballroom dancing lessons for 4 years now from Hilary, and she is patient, inspired, inventive, encouraging, talented and funny! We look forward to every lesson, and I know you will, too!
My husband and I had a great time. We’ve only danced one time before our endeavor with Austin Uptown Dance and that was at our wedding. We learned some basic moves to 2 step, a version of swing and salsa. The instructors kept it fun and were very helpful with their assistance. If you’re looking to learn or just step out of your comfort zone for a moment, their introductory group lesson is a great way to go. Get out and Dance!
Social dances here are great! I haven't taken lessons, here, but I have heard great things from fellow dancers who have.
Family friendly, always gracious includes the least experienced dancers, never high pressure
