All delicious varieties! Very cool 156 year history of a family business and well worth the tour of the brewery! #hometownbrew #prost
Was a beautiful day. The estate grounds and brewery was very interesting. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun. Beer was good too. Would recommend if your in New Ulm don't miss this.
Best Beer out there, hands down. Can never have too much beer.
This was our first time attending Octoberfest. We drove 5 hrs from Nebraska, stayed in Mankato and took the MNbeerbus to the brewery. We had no idea what expect and our original plan was to take in all the festivities of New Ulm. Two hours into things we decided we were happy staying right where we were at! Everyone was very friendly, the atmosphere was festive, the "polka" music was a bit disappointing, we were happy with the food, and the gift shop was awesome! Our hats off to you and your family/staff for hosting a wonder... read more
Nice tour with lots of history. Loved the Shocked beer plus my other favorites.
After taking the brewery tour... in relation to Schell's reputation... and the fact that it ranks highly on a genuine German Oktoberfest experience...they rate top 10 in the COUNTRY.. the food is lacking in relation to the beer sales... they did admit they ran out of food this year.. I could see the turn off.. every day experience is what you make of it.. I believe they deserve the benefit of the doubt...
Had a great time! Can't wait to come back again! Might make this a yearly event to attend!
This was my first time attending October Fest at Schell's and will not be returning for another. The band was dreadful, to say the least. Was hoping for more traditional music, like maybe a good old fashioned polka band. I can think of several in MN even though I am from Wisconsin. Couldn't believe the outrageously priced shirts and sweatshirts in the gift shop as well.
It's a very nice place to visit. I definite must for beer lovers. Bockfest, and Octoberfest are so much fun.
