Great food selection and friendly, accommodating staff. Coffee tasted excellent
Their kitchen is very dirty and I saw bugs everywhere. Also all of their baked goods come frozen and they just warm them up in the back. I had their salmon sandwich and had to stop because of an overwhelming taste of ammonia indicating spoilage. As for their coffee, the baristas do try their best but their machine is constantly dirty, they keep their milk out of a fridge and warm next to the espresso machine, and don't change the cream and milk for customers until it is rotten. Au Pain Doré is one of the most underrated coffee shops in Toronto. I love everything here, the coffee, pastries, and sweets are always fresh and delicious. I think it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, possibly because of limited advertising or its older-style design. But the quality is exceptional. Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for amazing coffee and fresh baked goods🪭
