After reading several unsatisfactory reviews, I can't believe they are referring to the same Dr. Shah. I had the most satisfactory experience with him performing knee replacement surgery. My experience was excellent from the time of my consultation until post surgery.
I've seen two doctors since seeing this quack. This shmuck only wants to do surgery for the bucks. If otherwise you're wasting his time. Hi see a real doctor. You're just an investment to him. Seek help from so many others. You won't regret it.
Very disappointed with Dr Shah. I had a tear in my ACL & meniscus and prescribed PT. F/U appt 3 mon later. He didn't have any info from PT, didn't recommend a new MRI or any other diagnostic tests. Told him I was still in pain, his response, "continue PT". Asked for a recommendation for a supportive brace. No response after 1 week. Call back and asked what brace I wanted & told a PA would contact me. I called back 1 wk later after no PA call. Then told I need to make an appt to get the Rx. Ugh!
Unlike many reviews, I met Dr. Shah and he is extremely knowledgeable on the field of knee replacement, patient and not once did I feel like I was rushed. As a matter of fact he gave my husband and myself his cell phone number and asked to please call him if I had additional questions. I am considering him for a knee replacement.
I wish I had read these reviews before visiting Dr Shah! Mandatory X-rays before seeing him, he came in for 2 mins and said I need MRI asap. At the next appointment came in for "2 mins" and said I had a tear -get therapy. Finally I was left with an intern who had no clue which brace would fit my injured knee. Completely disappointed with Dr shah and I have reached out to my physician for a 2nd opinion.
I have been reading the few unsatisfactory reviews, I can only tell you about my wonderful experience. Dr. Shah operated on my right hip in August 2017 and my left 5 moths later. I was driving in less than 3 wks, without any pain whatsoever. On my 2nd hip I never have taken any pain meds because I feel great. Does it matter how long he schmoozes or how great is the outcome. I was recommended by my PT whose sister lives in Brooklyn and had 2 hips replaced and her recovery was also great.
I had a very good experience at Englewood Ortho when Dr. Becker provided care for my fx ankle so I felt confident scheduling an appt with Dr. Shah for knee pain. He barely spoke to me and did not ask me any questions about my knee pain he just sent me for Xrays; I had to wait 1/2 hour. He then informed me that nothing was broken. He briefly looked at and touched my knee and said I should get an MRI. Then he left the room and just left a prescript. Please note never washed his hands.
He never even met me before surgery or spoke to any one of my family or myself after surgery. I do not know what he looks like. Called several times and his nurses came once to rehab to take out my stitches. Not only is he "Casper the ghost" he shouldn't call himself a professional. Shame on you Dr. Shah!
If you want to feel like a piece of cattle with an extremely tired vet branding you then this is the place for you! Otherwise, stay far, far away!
