Dr. Patel was excellent as a surgeon. He knows well his specialty field: spine surgery. I am so happy that I had him as my surgeon. All the pain I felt in my hips and legs prior to the surgery is totally gone after the surgery. I only had to spend overnight in the hospital. I was up and walking with a walker the day after surgery. I was walking with a cane 3 days after surgery and for the next week and a half. Now, I am walking without a cane -- totally unassisted. Dr Patel is known for being top in his field for good reason. I had a double fusion on my cervical spine. Mine was a special case, as I had a prior surgery that had broken hardware and that did not fuse properly. Dr Patel recognized the complexity of my situation to include having syrinx cysts in my spinal cord and requested Dr. Cassidy (neurosurgeon) to assist in my 3 hour surgery. My first meeting with Dr. Patel, I found them to be very patient obviously extremely knowledgeable and willing to explain every little detail to my satisfaction so that I felt extremely comfortable with my condition and the prognosis going forward
Dr. Patel performed a discectomy (L4-L5)on me earlier this month. I had tried all non-surgical options, but none provided lasting relief. Dr. Patel was recommended to me by my primary care physician. During my first meeting with Dr. Patel he was attentive and took his time in diagnosing and providing best options. Since he has done my surgery, I have been pain free - it is such a relief. I highly recommend him as well as all of his staff - physician assistant, nurse practitioner, scheduler, and others in the practice.
I have been a patient of Dr. Patel’s for two years now, he has performed three separate surgeries on my spine. This doctor is the one of the most caring people I’ve ever met, also his surgical skills are more than five star! An example of his caring, was when he called me at 10 o’clock in the evening on the night prior to my surgery because he had been thinking about my surgery all day, I mean what surgeon takes the time to do that? I give him SIX STARS!!!
Dr. Patel performed a laminectomy on me. It was a delicate procedure. From the outset, he explained everything in great detail; the good and the bad. He was forthright and candid! He is a kind and a patient man. He cares about people and their quality of life. This is a terrific surgeon but an even better HUMAN! If you are looking for the best surgeon on the gulf coast; he’s the doctor of choice. May God Bless him and his staff always! Thank you for giving me my life back. I am grateful.
My husband has had two back operations about 20 years apart by Dr. Patel . Then a few years ago, he had neck surgery by Dr. Patel. All went so very well, great recovery and results. No other doctor will be allowed to come near his back. The office staff and especially Sarah are WONDERFUL!

DR Patel recently performed lumbar revision surgery on my lumbar spine following a failed procedure done last fall.Thanks to his skill and knowledge I am on my way to regaining my health.His care before, during and after the surgery is the reason that I can highly recommend him.
