I had a blood panel screen on my annual physical, done in August 2022. My health insurance plan, United Healthcare Advantage, originally did not cover a $115 panel charge. I appealed. UHC accepted my appeal and paid $115 to Ascension healthcare. Before I knew I had to appeal, Ascension sent me a bill for $115 for this same panel screen. I paid it and sent my check to to Ascension's ***** ********** in ************. The check was electronically sent on Oct. 3, 2022 and deposited into Ascension's account (I have the account nu... read more

This is not about the hospital. They were the some of the very best people you could ask for. My complaint is with Via Christi's billing department. It is nothing short of a complete train wreck there is not enough space here for me to include all that happen to my bills with them. In short they set me up an payment plan --- took the payments directly out of my bank account --- and then turn it over the a debt collection agent. I wanted to warn everyone also to be prepared for no type of assistance if you try to call them. Y... read more

I would never recommend Ascension to anyone they are the worst insurance you could ever have. The cost, hidden fees and hoops you have to jump through just to reserve a test are horrendous. Also none of the employees are on the same page. You wait an hour for them to answer the phone, just to get a different reaponse everytime you call. Then when you get to the doctor's they are clueless, and just push you out the door. Please please take my advice, and many others don't pick Ascension for your health insurance. You'll be do... read more

We took our 10yo son to the ** to obtain help and were charged 5 times the rate of another regional medical center. I even work for Ascension and cannot understand the discrepancy.

I took my child for a cash pay/ no ins procedure. There were 3 different people prior to the procedure who quoted me the same $4699. 61 price. There were no complications and again no ins to file to alter the quote. To date I have been billed over $20k across multiple account numbers. This includes them billing my 14 year old instead of a "responsible party". Their billing department has given me the run around for months as I've tried to dispute the bill. I wrote a formal letter to *****************, the doctor directly, an... read more

Showed up to my in network hospital to deliver my first born with my in network doctor. Chose to get an epidural. At 6cm dilated, I made it a point to ask my nurse if the anesthesiologist was in network, which I was then told yes. As I did my due diligence on everything else far before my due date, I was ready to rock & roll. I delivered my daughter & got hit with tons of bills. One of those bills being an out of network charge for an epidural. Upon calling to ask why I was billed such a high amount (I have insurance thru my... read more

Understaffed and too many caseloads to handle. They don't care about their patients. They often refer their patients to other behavioral health centers, just to get them off their hands. They don't return your calls. It's extremely difficult to get in with the psychiatrist. The turnover rate for the therapist there is unbelievable, they go through them quickly. Rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, ever since Biden was elected president, America has gone to hell. Ever since the pandemic, Americans have gotten used to not w... read more
