You probably will not find any actual artists in Artists' Cafe, as the Café is named for the Fine Arts Building, where the restaurant resides. Artists' Cafe serves reliable diner fare, such as burgers, omelets and roast chicken. The prices are a little high for a diner, but it is a better bet than the chain restaurants found nearby. The patio is a nice place to sit in the summer. Grab a bite and go play in Grant Park, just a couple of blocks away.

Great atmosphere, good service, fun people. Lunch was good so I may head back for dinner sometime.
The inside is such a throwback to a 50s dining restaurant. Loved it. Food was good - I had a club called some British aristocratic name: Wellington? Huntington? Anyways...it was tasty. My bf had a similar sandwich on a croissant, which he said was also good. They have an impressive drink menu, and the dessert selection was pretty awesome.
We ate there a few times because it was super convenient, so I was able to sample a few different things. The French toast was by far my favorite. The best part of breakfast was my latte! Yummy.
i remember being a kid, and begging my folks to take me here as we walked by. my daughter and i were in the area over the labor day weekend, and we were hungry. i had a ruben, and she had cheese ravioli. it may have been the best ruben i've ever had, and the ravioli was good too. the manager lady (female archie bunker?) was friendly. it was kinda late 8:30pm, but the service was friendly. we'll be back. as for the price, c'mon it's chicago! eating in any city is expensive! ps-super cake was fantastic!!!
Grab some calories after seeing an awesome movie at the Fine Arts Theater nextdoor, or hearing a great concert at the Auditorium Theatre around the corner, or wearing yourself out walking around fantastic Millennium Park. I've got to admit, it's nice to replace that fat I just lost with a milkshake after rocking out.
Stopped in for a chocolate shake when the sun finally came out some time in March. This morning I was really hungry and in the Loop, so I decided to go back and try their breakfast. I'm very picky and easily ticked off in the AM if I haven't eaten yet. I want my food now and just like I ordered it. Amick, very mellow & friendly dude, was my server. I'm not sure if I've ever had better bacon, well done & it didn't crumble into million pieces. My over easy eggs were just that, not to runny or to hard. The toast was dark, but n... read more
I had a FANTASTIC grilled cheese with homemade hotchips sprinkled with parmesan cheese and a REAL milkshake. The service was quick and my dinner was great. I always have a great time at this place and they have the best coffee selection!
I had the best cheeseburger and the soup was great. The service was fast and the waitress was great. She let us know about the free day at the Art Institute. I love this place!
Came here for breakfast with my wife and son. Good food, good coffee, good service. No complaints at all. Granted, it is hard to really screw up breakfast, but our experience was great.
