You probably will not find any actual artists in Artists' Cafe, as the Café is named for the Fine Arts Building, where the restaurant resides. Artists' Cafe serves reliable diner fare, such as burgers, omelets and roast chicken. The prices are a little high for a diner, but it is a better bet than the chain restaurants found nearby. The patio is a nice place to sit in the summer. Grab a bite and go play in Grant Park, just a couple of blocks away.

Must not miss outdoor cafe – I work in the area and love the boxed salad. The Artist is an institution - in a historical building, family run for generations by restaurant people, not a corporation, and an unbeatable location. The perfect place to go before or after a visit to the Art Institute. Must not miss the outdoor cafe in the summer.
Definately worth it – I always wanted to try this place and so I finally did because I was craving chicken tenders and they were so delicious. They came with a plate full of fries and onion rings plus a good amount of tenders. It was a little expensive but definately worth it. I shared it with my boyfirend and we were both full.
Conveniently located right on Michigan Avenue, this is a good place to go for a break from shopping or after taking in a music or theater show.
quaint diner – If you are looking for a quaint diner to remind you of NYC, then Artist's Cafe comes pretty close...
It's a quiet calm atmosphere to get some homework out of the way or read a book. The waitstaff I've had are very nice
I tried this place today and am pleased to say that I've found a new lunch spot to enjoy in the south loop.
They have an impressive drink menu, and the dessert selection was pretty awesome.
We had a pleasant lunch here on Labor Day. The inside is such a throwback to a 50s dining restaurant. Loved it. Food was good.
The food was pretty good. I saw the grilled cheese sandwich highly recommended, so I ordered that, despite the fact that normally I would never have ordered a grilled cheese at a restaurant. It didn't disappoint.
