Ali and Rene' are in Old City! Thank goodness I found them! I called the salon, and the girl at the desk told me where they went after I refused to go to someone else. It was nice of her to tell me.
The best cut and color for curly hair – I usually leave salons with tears in my eyes because they don't cut, color, or style curly hair well. This place did an excellent job and the service was fabulous.
Ali and Rene' Moved! – I called A+S, and they told me Ali and Rene' are at Lakshmi Hair Studio in old City! I am going with them! Update: I went to see them at Lakshmi...WOW! So cool! Great atmosphere! Of course I was happy as always! The whole feel of Lakshmi was very urban and hip. The location was gorgeous!
Wonderful Cut and Color – I love Art + Science! I am very, very picky about my hair and have been completely satisfied with my haircuts from Rene. She listens to what I want but also gives her own professional advice. I've also been pleased with the coloring services. Although I always struggle with parking, it's worth the hassle.
Ali is a FABULOUS colorist! I have very difficult gray/white hair that doesn't take to color easily. I explained this to Ali at my first visit, and she worked hard to get it perfect-right out of the gate! She did a fantastic job. I've been really happy with her and all the staff at the salon. Enjoy!
...Stay away from "anonymous"reviewers... Ali recently happened to be voted "Best Colorist" in mainline magazine. She studied her craft at Ted Gibson in New York. That girl can create the most amazing blondes I have seen here in Philly. Not only is she great at color, she can style and blow dry hair better than a Pantene commercial.
STAY AWAY FROM ALI Don't be fooled by her sweet disposition. She is insecure and jealous. If you have pretty hair, she will go out of her way to mess it up. Also, sitting and listening to her talk is annoying!
Color your hair here, seriously! – I do not like salons and I generally am never satisfied with my hair when I leave one. I kept researching and researching salons in the city and outside Philadelphia. I read a small article on Daily Candy and decided to look up Art + Science. I read all the stylists bios and decided to pick Ali because she had "color" under her name. I crossed my fingers and made an appointment. I have NEVER walked out pleased with my hair.
