Unimpressive. – After reading the reviews & receiving a friend's recommendation we were expecting a stellar meal... we were disappointed to find anything but. Ok, yes I'm selective- I want great food with excellent service- we found neither. The place is SUPER tiny, the photo above is deceptive, but IF it had great food that wouldn't keep me away. After 2 starters and 2 entrees, I can say that the chef is uninventive. Like vicman said it's fresh but dull. They do have excellent wines though, possibly if you enjoy many flight... read more
Great food, friendly owners and staff, would like to return – We had a very nice dinner here which was enhanced by the charm of the intimate front room, the friendliness of the owners and attentiveness of the staff. The greens for the salads were garden fresh, the pasta is made on the premises, and when we asked for a special order of a lamb chop with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetable it came out just right. We had glasses of the least expensive red wine on the menu ($8) and it was excellent, rich and smooth. Sorry we di... read more
Great Night Out – We were a party of 4 and we did arrive on time for our 9:30 Sat night reservation...and they didn't have our table ready. They were, however, very apologetic (5 apologies from three different people). The food was excellent--the recommendations of the wine steward were fantastic (and he didn't try to push the most expensive wines on the list on us, actually recommending one of the cheaper whites). The food was fantastic, all 4 of us were happy with both our entrees and our appetizers. The waiter was very at... read more

BEST wines for the price anywhere; food is like being in europe – unbelieveably good wines for the prices. the food reminds one of eating in europe. the staff are lovely and very helpful and i've used the downstairs private room for a birthday party. it's my new favorite place in my neighborhood to go for dinner or just a glass of wine..
Disappointing experience – Although the food and wine is quite nice, Aroma misses the mark on customer service. We made a reservation for a private party and were assured we would be taken care of (the hostess/owner promised to hold our table for us). When we arrived (exactly on time, not a minute late), we were unapologetically told by the same hostess/owner that she had given our table away "because we're a small restaurant and we can't afford to turn customers away." Needless to say, our party of seven relocated to an alt... read more
Delicious lunch – I was so happy to discover a new lunch place in the neighborhood. After trying it out, I'm thrilled that the food is excellent and at a great price. It's not a huge menu but there's plenty of choice of panini, pastas and salads. Everything we tried was really fresh and flavorful. I'm hooked on the sicilian tuna panino. And, if you love coffee, their espresso and cappuccino are some of the best I've ever tasted.
Slice of Italian heaven – Divine wine & italian food! We had a birthday dinner downstairs in the gorgeous private room, Vito brought us wine selections and basically provided a private tasting and descriptions and insight into the different wines which the guests loved, we had great cheese plates to start and a fabulous fruit tiramisu for 'cake' dessert. Good service, & Alexandra arranged everything for us fabulously. Rissotto ball appetizer was delish, and loved the garganelli with artichokes & pine nuts, and the meatloaf. ... read more
Amazing food, amazing wine, amazing service – I went there for my good-bye dinner last Friday and I couldn't have had it at a better place. I had a group of 16 people so they gave us the downstairs dining room, which had an intimate and elegantly homey ambiance. I had to change my reservations three times and Alexandra couldn't have been nicer about it, a rarity among NYC restaurants of this caliber. Vito chose excellent red and white wines for us, and Kristy (I think that was her name), our server, was extremely helpful and... read more
