Pretty good intimate spot w/ friendly service – Got here about nine o'clock on a Wednesday, room was full and was told we'd have to wait about 5 minutes which is exactly what we waited. They were out of the wine we ordered and when asked for a comparable substitute they got it right to a tee. The menu has a good mix of things for everyone, more of a real menu than just a large selection of cheese and meats. GREAT dining experience!!! – Last weekend we went to Aroma for my Fiance's birthday. We were a party of 8, and we were able to share the private room downstairs for the party. The room was perfect for a large party. It holds up to 22, but was perfect for a our party to share with another group. Truly amazing – I started my 2007 with a wonderful culinary experience over this tiny Italian restaurant. I was there the new year evening with few friends , and the entire evening was superb. I have been traveling in Italy many times acquiring a vast knowledge on wines , and their wine list was truly impressive and captivating. Unimpressive. – After reading the reviews & receiving a friend's recommendation we were expecting a stellar meal... we were disappointed to find anything but. Ok, yes I'm selective- I want great food with excellent service- we found neither. The place is SUPER tiny, the photo above is deceptive, but IF it had great food that wouldn't keep me away. Great food, friendly owners and staff, would like to return – We had a very nice dinner here which was enhanced by the charm of the intimate front room, the friendliness of the owners and attentiveness of the staff. The greens for the salads were garden fresh, the pasta is made on the premises, and when we asked for a special order of a lamb chop with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetable it came out just right. Great Night Out – We were a party of 4 and we did arrive on time for our 9:30 Sat night reservation...and they didn't have our table ready. They were, however, very apologetic (5 apologies from three different people). The food was excellent--the recommendations of the wine steward were fantastic (and he didn't try to push the most expensive wines on the list on us, actually recommending one of the cheaper whites). BEST wines for the price anywhere; food is like being in europe – unbelieveably good wines for the prices. the food reminds one of eating in europe. the staff are lovely and very helpful and i've used the downstairs private room for a birthday party. it's my new favorite place in my neighborhood to go for dinner or just a glass of wine..
Disappointing experience – Although the food and wine is quite nice, Aroma misses the mark on customer service. We made a reservation for a private party and were assured we would be taken care of (the hostess/owner promised to hold our table for us). When we arrived (exactly on time, not a minute late), we were unapologetically told by the same hostess/owner that she had given our table away "because we're a small restaurant and we can't afford to turn customers away."
