I have nothing but amazing things to say about my Level I Avy class with Apex. All my instructors and especially Stew, who lead my group during the field sessions, were fantastic. I have come out of that class more confident, more motivated and most importantly more knowledgeable towards backcountry skiing. They even made it snow a foot overnight before the third day of the class! I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!!
I took the AIARE 1 course in December and it was a great course! The instructors made the course fun and provided great information and insight!! I would definitely recommend it!

Reading though these reviews I noticed that many mentioned guides—like myself—no longer work for apex. A culture of manipulation and exploitation is pervasive in this guide service where guides are put in positions that make them uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. Many good guides have worked at apex and their guests have given stellar reviews here but give credit where it is due—not to this company. I had such a great time learning how to rock climb. Our instructor Jesse was a great teacher and was always so encouraging!
Scott was amazing. Our two kids (ages 7 and 9) had an awesome time as did we. Felt super safe, great interaction with the kids, and incredibly professional - Scott was not some climber with a side gig, but a true, well-trained expert.
