I was in Colorado and did the mountaineering 101 course plus a day hike to mt Elbert with Apex. My guide Danielle Taylor was incredibly knowledgeable, super professional, very experienced and fun to be with. I learned how to plan for an alpine style hike from packing a bag to practicing self arrest, understanding and mitigating risk, being prepared from the gear and snacks to the mental aspect of mountaineering, everything was spot on and so much more than I anticipated. Andy was our guide for our AIRIE level 1 and rescue certification and I couldn’t recommend him more. He was unbelievably knowledgeable, and did an amazing job transferring his knowledge and skills to us!
My 15 y/o son and his friend had a great experience with Alex Gukov for a day of ice climbing and mountaineering! The boys climbed up a frozen waterfall, learned to belay each other, use crampons, ice axes, and all of the different techniques. Alex made it a great day for them! Amazing experience, 10/10 recommend-thank you Alex and Apex Mountain School!
