Alicia was great! I had a lot of pain in my mid back and hips, and she found that I was overusing a segment of my back which lead me to an injury. I had spent years working with chiropractors and massage therapists who could only evaluate me when I was not moving, and could never get to the root of the problem. Alicia was able to evaluate me while I was in motion and discovered why I had an overuse injury. After about 5 sessions I feel better than I have in years.
My primary care physician referred me to Apex and Dr. Shugart and I have thanked him numerous times. Alicia has raised the work of physical therapy to an art form. She zeroes-in on the underlying causes of pain and helps to correct that, as well as providing immediate short-term relief of pain symptoms. My daughter was referred by her Pediatrician after an accident where she fell while dancing. We had gone to an orthopedic doctor who put her in a brace and turned her loose. When she still had pain we were referred to Apex for PT. Initially I was told by Alicia that she was out of network with my insurance. After the initial appointment that no longer mattered. I went to Alicia to help me with my hip pain after a fall . She definitely knew where my pain was and adjusted my hip and gave me exercises . She also made videos on my phone so I could see the correct way to do them at home . My hip and back thank you Alicia. Nick Gamble
When I went to Alicia for help with shoulder pain, she correctly & quickly assessed my problem and gave me multiple exercises to relive my discomfort snd to strengthen the areas of my neck and shoulder that would give permanent relief. Along the way, she explained and demonstrated the incorrect & correct functioning of shoulders and taught me all I need to know to continue healthfully. Alicia is a fantastic physical therapist. All of her sessions are one-on-one so you get her full attention and expertise. She quickly identifies what is causing the pain and provides you with the knowledge and corrective actions to speed up recovery and prevent re-injury. At the end of each session you will leave with a noticeable improvement.
If you want a physical therapist who gets to the "root" of your pain, Alicia is the physical therapist you want to see. She works with you one on one and you don't have to compete with other patients for attention (like most PT sessions). She listens to you, writes stuff down as you're working together and gets to the actual problem. She loves what she does and you can tell. Go see her!
