About this business

A man-made lake provides refuge to wildlife and dozens of tame ducks, providing entertainment for the diners at this long-established San Diego seafood restaurant called the Anthony's Fish Grotto. It also makes the hour-long dinnertime wait much more pleasant for kids and adults alike. Seafood is the best bet here and the daily specials offer great value and delicious preparation. The Clam Chowder, from Anthony's matriarch Mamma Ghio, is renowned, a rich red broth liberally studded with tender clams.

I normally get to visit San Diego once a year, I always come here for the best fish and chips and enjoy sitting outside enjoying the bay!

Panko Alaskan Cod! Terrible dish! No flavor! Just a hint of frozen fish flavor! Don't order or you will regret the $19.95!!!!!

I took my fiance there last night for our anniversary, and we were treated like Royalty. For 70 years Anthony's has been a part of San Diego. And it Truely is a crime that San Diego chose to not renew their lease. They plan to build a trio of new spaces for other eating establishments, and apparently,(even with being rated #1 for seafood 17 years in a row) they... read more

First time in San Diego and Anthony's was a short walk from our hotel. Service was some of the best I have experienced, Steve was super friendly and attentive. He even brought out some free samples for us to try. We were seated at the window which was a great view while dining. Food was awesome, super fresh and well prepared. I would love to come back our next trip through and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Business response:

Thanks for the kind words! So glad you enjoyed your visit.
