Anthony's Fish Grotto

4.5

About this business

A man-made lake provides refuge to wildlife and dozens of tame ducks, providing entertainment for the diners at this long-established San Diego seafood restaurant called the Anthony's Fish Grotto. It also makes the hour-long dinnertime wait much more pleasant for kids and adults alike. Seafood is the best bet here and the daily specials offer great value and delicious preparation. The Clam Chowder, from Anthony's matriarch Mamma Ghio, is renowned, a rich red broth liberally studded with tender clams.

The treasure mixed seafood fry with French fry is berry Good. We enjoy always eating outside and feeding the Seagulls hot sauce with ketchup and garter sauce.

Not bad, but food is overpriced. A touristy place, too.

We had a terrific Sunday lunch at Anthony's. The service was great. The view is perfect. Fish was delicious and the bar was generous. We'll be back.
