I need surgery on my back. The top neurosurgeon in CT was scheduled to perform the surgery on April 10th, 2025. Because Anthem BC/BS denied one of the codes for the surgery, I cannot go forward. All other codes for the surgery were approved, only one was denied. I believe, because I have met my high deductible, the insurance company is trying to avoid me having the surgery, until renewal in July. It’s very hard to understand what I am paying for and when it’s due. There is not a clear breakdown of payments. And to top it off it is not anywhere near affordable, they do not cover anything. When trying to get understanding from the customer service team they are just as unsure and that makes things 10x worse.
Dealing with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield via Access Health CT has been a NIGHTMARE. Customer service and billing continue to make mistakes and penalize us as a result. Do yourself a favor and choose literally anything else. Horrible! Deserving of 0 stars.
Don’t waste your money and time, not even as the last option, never never never.
