My experience was terrific! I was initially apprehensive in selecting surgery as the resolution for my bi-lateral carpal tunnel; However, the office staff, Dr. Nelson, the surgery staff and post recovery exceeded my expectations. Professional, considerate, knowledgeable and patient best describes each of the staff members and Dr. Nelson. It was truly a pleasant experience and I am wondering why I put it off for so long. This team works like a well oiled machine, but with kindness and compassion.
Some years ago I began to experience numbness, tingling and pain due to carpel tunnel syndrome in my right hand. I tried to “wish” the problem away, hoping it would resolve itself. When my symptoms grew worse and began interrupting my sleep, I knew I needed to consider surgery. After Dr. Nelson performed outpatient surgery at the Southington Surgery Center my right hand is pain free for the first time in many years. I only wish I had done this years ago.
Very good experience with Dr. Nelson and his staff. Unfortunately as of Dec. 31 of this year, my insurance will no longer be accepted. So, I hope to not need any further visits.
Because of Dr. Nelson's surgical skills, I came back for four different surgeries. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and patient. When you call the office, you talk to a person, not a dam machine. ,
Dr. Nelson performed surgery on my daughter after a serious wrist injury. He was extremely patient in answering our many questions. He was compassionate from visit one through visit ten (even popping in to check on her during therapy after the surgery). We were anxious to get back to playing soccer; however, he stuck to his professional recommendation to make her wait until she fully healed. If you are looking for a Dr. to tell you what you want to hear- go somewhere else- he won't do it.

Dr. Nelson was professional, friendly, and extremely efficient and informative. He took the time to explain the details concerning my Carpal Tunnel, and the different options for treatment available to me. He took care of my problem in a timely manner, and I am pleased with the result of my recent surgery. The Surgery Center was excellent!
I had what seemed like a minor finger injury to my right index finger. After 2 MD visits & 2 the 2 ER visits it was a nightmare. Then I saw Dr Nelson everything changed he listened, reviewed the previous tests, investigated the problem and took charge to fix my finger. I was impressed by his professional but warm interest in me as a patient and person. He cared. He called to check on me at home that nite and also encouraged me to call if the finger worsened or had questions. Dr N cares.
