Giovanni Scorzo, chef and proprietor, was born in Calabria, and grew up in Liguria, in the Northwestern part of Italy. Like his mother, whose maiden name was Andreoli, he became a chef. Scorzo worked in a variety of Italian regions, Liguria, Tuscany and Calabria, until moving to the U.S. in 1985. RecommendedThis was such a fun place. This has got to be the best Italian food in Arizona. It is very casual. You order at the deli counter, pick your wine out of a cooler and you get tiny glasses to drink the wine. We loved it. We are Italian and travel to Italy a lot and this is really good food.
