Best Cakes in Northern Virginia We have been Amphora customers for many years, and they have never disappointed us. Their cakes and baked goods are not only delicious, but very artistic! We have often "customized" designs for different parties (kids, graduation, office, etc.), and the results have been fantastic. The mocha-rum and opera cakes are especially delicious, as are their Christmas cookies. Best wedding cake EVER! My now-husband and I visited several Fairfax bakeries during our wedding planning to determine from where we should order our cake, and the Amphora was hands-down the best choice. Their cake tasted amazing, and the customer service was impeccable. We brought a photo from a magazine of a cake covered with hand-painted fall leaves. Frozen Wedding Cake & Terrible Service I got married 4 weeks ago and I just wanted to warn everyone NOT to get their wedding cake from Amphora Bakery in Herndon, VA because they delivered a FROZEN 5 tier cake to my wedding reception. They delivered the cake at 5:30pm and when I cut the cake at 10pm - the whole center of the cake was still frozen.

So not worth it I live near the one in Vienna, so have used several times for the conveniece. It is just an off-shoot of the one in Herndon; they don't bake there and the people behind the counter don't know much either. Their cakes are heavy with frosting with thin, dry flour layers. They look nice, but taste average at best and are not worth the prices they charge. Good luck getting any customer service, they ignored me for days when I had a complaint.

Not Reputable Have been a previous customer. Great cheesecakes but very expensive. Paid $55. for a 10" strawberry cheesecake. Planned to impress my christmas dinner guests. The strawberries were very sour. No one could eat them. I called the Amphora owner to complain and told her that the cheesecake was inedible and I would like a refund and would bring the cake back. Great Wedding Cake Consultation My fiancee and I made a wedding cake tasting appointment and had a great experience. Our consultant, Loretta, could not have been more sweet or helpful. She listened to our flavor preferences and brought out a nice selection of flavors to try. I had a picture of the exact cake I wanted and said they could absolutely replicate the cake design. disappointed, uncurtious customer service I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday.
