Best wedding cake EVER! My now-husband and I visited several Fairfax bakeries during our wedding planning to determine from where we should order our cake, and the Amphora was hands-down the best choice. disappointed, uncurtious customer service I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. Great Wedding Cake Consultation My fiancee and I made a wedding cake tasting appointment and had a great experience. Our consultant, Loretta, could not have been more sweet or helpful. She listened to our flavor preferences and brought out a nice selection of flavors to try. I had a picture of the exact cake I wanted and said they could absolutely replicate the cake design. They screwed up I ordered, as they say 3 days, in advance for a cake on my wife's birthday. I went there and they didn't have it ready. I ordered for pick up in Vienna and they forgot to deliver to Vienna from Herndon. Cake is the only best thing they do, and they screwed up in that too. Also they offered another one which was different in looks from what they have on their website. I was like you should sell me what I ordered looking at your website. Bottomline I dont recommend. Not Reputable Have been a previous customer. Great cheesecakes but very expensive. Paid $55. for a 10" strawberry cheesecake. Planned to impress my christmas dinner guests. The strawberries were very sour. No one could eat them. I called the Amphora owner to complain and told her that the cheesecake was inedible and I would like a refund and would bring the cake back. So not worth it I live near the one in Vienna, so have used several times for the conveniece. It is just an off-shoot of the one in Herndon; they don't bake there and the people behind the counter don't know much either. Their cakes are heavy with frosting with thin, dry flour layers. They look nice, but taste average at best and are not worth the prices they charge. Good luck getting any customer service, they ignored me for days when I had a complaint.
Pretty cake, good value! Just got a gorgeous cake for a bridal shower, and it was amazing! The cake was moist, and the mousse and jam fillings are to die for, with so many from which to choose. I wanted a different color combination than what was shown in their cake catalog, and that was no problem. Would have been nice to offer small samples of cake and filling flavors to help with choices. Staff very friendly and helpful. The cake was a big hit with the bride and all the guests--the perfect touch!
Volunteer The cake sat temptingly on the dessert table at the Shepherd's Center of Oakton Vienna annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held this week. Guests at the annual luncheon are senior volunteers who give time and talent to others in the community and the annual luncheon is always a nice time to say "thanks" to the busy Center's many volunteers.
