Far from relaxing... – i went in for a massage and facial. let me just say this was not the treat i was hoping for. the "spa" area is a joke. the employee break room is apparently located *inside* it and throughout my services all i heard was the door opening and closing not stop and constant chitter chatter and obnoxious noise throughout. not to mention the restrooms located *inside* the "spa" as well, so in addition to the breakroom noise i had to hear toilet flushing and guests waiting to use. also the rooms were really u... read more
Amazing colorist!!! – You know what they say about moving... the worst part is finding a dentist, doctor, and hairstylist. When I moved back to the area, my husband and I were out to dinner and I couldn't stop staring at the girl at the next table's hair. She had the best hilights I've ever seen, with a bob ( you know the one, where it's shorter in the back) that fell around her face just right. Awful Experience – I was pretty excited about going to Amici Salon. From the outside it appeared to be well kept. The inside was another story. The chairs in the lobby were old and dirty. The front desk was a gossip area for stylists and receptionists with nothing to do. They were loud and quite annoying. There were few stylists and manicurists that were actually working. They made my Redhead 's hair look like the day I married her 38 years ago.....Great! – I have visited Amici's several times for back waxing, massage and haircutting, I found the service to be outstanding and the overall ambiance of the salon created a feeling of luxury and quality. The people on the staff were knoledgable and friendly. Several women who have gone to Amici's on my recommendation have had wonderful experiences with the styling and coloring professionals on staff. Good for facials Not so good for hair services – Very mixed feelings My first trip I went for a facial and it was very relaxing and I felt great when I left. They recommended certain products but NO pressure to buy. I did return to purchase the facial products and I had a severe breakout on my skin when I used it. But my mother used the same products with no problems. I did go to have my hair colored in Oct '06. Wonderful Stylist – I have been going to Amici's for about a year. Linda does my hair and I highly recommend her. The salon is beautiful. And I also have gone in there dressed up or in shorts etc., but I have always been treated the same. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I am very specific and picky about my hair but Linda is wonderful and gets it right every time. She is professional and always dressed beautifully. In fact I believe that the way she dresses reflects positively on the salon.
treat yourself to a fantastic day at the spa!! – My fiancee surprised my mom and I to a fabulous day at the spa. First, we had a couples massage with Rene and Delila, then we had facials with Gina and Catherine and finally we had our makeup done with Shalimar and Ashley. My mother has the worst time with makeup and Shalimar did a beautiful job, Catherine gave me some excellent advice on future treatments for my skin and our massage therapists went out their way to make sure we were comfortable. Nice pedicure but expensive services are not superior – I've had a pedi/mani there twice, not sure why I went back, but the pedicure was nice. However, the manicure peeled off within a couple of hours. I have had manicures since then that were much cheaper but stayed on for a week or longer. Also, they seem to size you up when you walk in the door and treat you differently if you look less wealthy. makeup nightmare- actual pain TWICE !! – I tried to practice my wedding makeup at Amici on 9-9-06. I was given a very nice, but inexperienced girl who had recently graduated from the Paul Mitchell school. First, she learned tha the makeup brushes hadn't been cleaned by the previous employee. (They shouldn't be using them on multiple customers anyway) After that, she overapplied eyeshadow and attempted to remove it with face cleanser, which opened the pores on my eyelid and burned them.
