Absolutely awful. Standard “NGO” behavior. I showed as a walk in 35 mins before their posted closing window and they said they couldn’t take me because their systems shut down 15 mins early and they wouldn’t be able to leave on time (they had 4 workers available and only one donor). I had to double check and make sure I wasn’t at the DMV.
I had a very bad experience a few days ago. I filled out all the forms in advance, was on time for a scheduled appointment and total time was just over an hour. I was asked the same questions more than five times and to be continually asked what sex I am over and over as well as my race three different times... was off for me. The process was the worst experience in donating blood for decades. I will find other options to donate and I hope this experience is not something many others are experiencing.
This Red Cross is in the middle of a strip mall. I've donated here at least a dozen times. Get the Red Cross Blood app and make an appointment. They take walk ins, but they aren't open on a routine schedule, and they can get very busy. They staff here is fantastic; they are friendly and experts in phlebotomy. I also enjoy the playlist and the friendly banter during a donation. One last thing, consider giving a Power Red donation. They have two machines here.
