My 9 year old daughter spent hours and hours raising money for this organization and was notified that she was among 20 top school children that raised money and would be recognized at the American heart association walk on April 29..and when all the kids names were mentioned, they mistakenly forgot to announce my daughter's name. Here is my story! After fighting cancer lymphoma and still smoking my body decided to have a stroke. I am now 6 months post stroke and 6 months smoke free! Recovery since the stroke has been the hardest thing for me to do. I was in the hospital just sitting in the hospital when I was thinking I need to quit smoking. That was the easiest thing to do! This organization does not support smokeless harm reduction products unless they are made by a big Pharma company that will donate to them. This is rediculious! If they care about health health and helping people quit smoking they would support other harm reduction technology.
I had my stroke in 2012 you all do good work this year will be my 2nd Heart and Stroke walk in Tulsa Oklahoma.
This is an organisation you can count on. They are really great
my wife and i remember what it was like growing up and heart disease eating at our family and friends i feel that though they are doing more for the patients now that they werent able to do before however the fundraising and awareness isnt what it used to be. i wish we could get our students like in elementary schools more involved, our kids school does an ok job but let me tell you that my wifes old elementary school should give out pointers.....pelican elementary school in cape coral fl, finding solutions is half the battl... read more
