Like the growers in the local community garden and the Amaranth plant -- which originated in South America and is now considered a super-grain by many -- were largely transplants to the Walnut Hill Neighborhood, we too are transplants recognizing the value of a shared community identity. The quality food and social community
I love Amaranth. They have limited hours, however. I also arrive too late but service is personable and when I have arrived within prime hours (between 10-2pm I believe) the cafe is full of lively conversations between individuals and groups. Summer Fridays offer a jazz set outdoors and specialty, artisan pizzas with the most delicious, delightful savory toppings and crust. Nom!
