I have seen Dr. Dempsey several times for some wrist problems, and also for trigger finger. She operated on me a month ago for trigger thumb. As a musician, I am very concerned about hand problems. I feel that she listened really well to me and that she was very honest annd accurate about what was going on and what could be done. In all cases, time has proven her to be correct, repeatedly. Dr Branch asked me to call her for my thumb. He told me she was very Good. I called her and made appt. When she sow my thumb she was a little Skeptical about treating me. You see the person that stitched me up, when I cut my finger on the job, did awful job. She didn't know what she was going to do. But she agreed to treat me. My husband suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and recently underwent a neurectomy in his right wrist to help control the chronic pain he suffers since this is the main joint affected. Dr. Dempsey evaluated my husband and deemed him a good candidate for a wrist neurectomy which is a limited invasive procedure when compared to a fusion of his wrist. Hand surgery after accident
She provided clear, thorough explanations of my condition, the options, what to expect and the expected outcomes. Pre and post surgery instructions and expectations were discussed and follow-up was thorough. Results of repairing my complex break were outstanding. She was concerned about me and answered all my questions. If needed, I will return to Dr. Dempsey in the future.
I had carpal tunnel surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago. From the day she told me I needed surgery she and her staff has been so attentive to me. She explained everything so clear and straight forward. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Dempsey is an excellent surgeon. She operated on my left elbow and hand. I will use her if any future hand surgery is needed and highly recommend her.

Dr Dempsey is a skilled surgeon, but her office is a nightmare. Now a part of Emory, Dr. Dempsey's office is one of chaos. The phone system has not worked for at least 9 months (Nov. 2019 to July 27, 2020)--none of prompts work. No one responds to their patient portal (at least 4 attempts). If you do get through ,on the telephone, you will be prompted to leave a message and it can take a couple of days to get a call back.
