About this business
Authentic Southern Italian cuisine. Same location since 1998. We changed names in June 2006 from Salvatore's Trattoria to Amafli Ristorante. Chef Anna Avino has been preparing our menu since originally opening in Feburary 1998. Her passion for Italian cooking and cuisine is evident in her homemade sauces and pastas.

Michele – As a first generation Italian-American from NYC I feel I am able to rate Salvatore's realistically. This is as authentic as Italian (Neopolitan) cooking gets. They offer dishes, both on and off the menu, that my Mother (originally from Naples, Italy) made, which are the closest thing to home made that I have found in the Atlanta area. "Buono Appetito"!
Extremely BAD service – Last weekend I tried to bring my family a a few friends to this place. We called when we were within 7 minutes of the restaurant and asked what the wait time was. We were told 15 minutes. We got to the place and then were told it would be over 45 minutes to seat us. I explained we had just called (since they didnt take reservations) and were told the wait was only 15 minutes. The hostess didnt care and told us the wait was over 45 minutes. Being Italian I feel qualified – The sauce was like my Aunt Julia made, I always order items that have to be made fresh , not like some of the Others on the list that precook pasta and put it in a bag and refrigerate and drop the bag in boiling water to heat it up. Salads are fresh and crisp. The best part when I ask for something not on the menu they deliver. They also make the best Negroni's in Atlanta second only to Rossinis in New York city.
Great Italian – Finally an Italian restaurant that is good and isn't a chain. The place isn't much to look at, but the food makes up for the atmosphere. The chicken parm is the best I have ever had. This place blows Maggiano's out of the water.
Most authentic in Alpharetta area – Best Italian food I've found since leaving N.J. The Veal Marsala is terrific and if it's not on the menu the cook will always make it. Bartender makes things interesting. It's worth the wait!
come here to be treated poorly! – Salvatore goes to every table and greets people that look older than 40. My friend reccomended it since he is friends with Salvatore and told me to say he sent me. Salvatore said he was too busy and that he has never known anyone with that name and left. Went today and tried to get a gift certificate. When finished we went to bar and asked for one. Mama Mia! – If you're looking for an authenic Italian dinner, don't miss this one. The cook, Anna, is the real thing as is the owner, Salvatore. The atmosphere may be lacking and the wait long, but it is indeed worth the wait. I highly recommend this restaurant over anything you will find in the Buckhead restaurant group. This isn't big business, this is family run good, authenic Italian food.
