Authentic Southern Italian cuisine. Same location since 1998. We changed names in June 2006 from Salvatore's Trattoria to Amafli Ristorante. Chef Anna Avino has been preparing our menu since originally opening in Feburary 1998. Her passion for Italian cooking and cuisine is evident in her homemade sauces and pastas.

My favorite Italian Food – My absolute favorite for italian food when I am in Atlanta. I have dined here as a couple and as part of a party of 60. Everytime the food is fantastic and the service superb. I would recommend this place to anyone. If there was to be a downside, I would say that the parking is limited, so get there early.
Eat here to be treated like dirt – After calling 30 minutes ahead and then waiting in person for 90 minutes (and watching people that arrived AFTER us get seated BEFORE us), I asked the hostess nicely if we could push 2 tables together. She said she would ask. A few minutes later the manager/owner came over and asked if I had a problem. I said that we had arrived BEFORE the party of 6 that had just been seated and he said that our party of 8 (6 adults and 2 small children) could not fit at that table. I said that we would be... read more
Citysearch Editorial Review – Lodged in an unassuming strip mall in Roswell, Amalfi flies under the culinary radar but many Italian Atlantans regard it as our city’s best place for southern Italian cooking. And it’s quite the scene: regulars give hugs and handshakes to boisterous owner Salvatore Mattiello while his aunt Anna does all the cooking and his uncle Alfredo can be found working the books at the end of the bar. Instant “Soprano” comparisons aside, the food is outstanding. Calamari luciana is a must-try appetizer, li... read more
Great Food – Bad parking but have always been lucky. The food is great. Very friendly family run business. The bar crown is like "Cheers".
Great Italian Food. – My experience at Amalfi Italian Restaurant was bitter sweet. Food was excellent. Our greeting was rude. Over-all great food. Clean, and comfortable.
New name! Same great place!! – My husband (a NY Italian) and I moved to GA 3 years ago and decided to try Salvatore's 'cause it's my husband's middle name. The outside is definately deceving, and unless looking for it you'll drive right by. But, it is so worth it!!! We sat at the bar where Salvatore happened to be bartending that night. He was engaging and hospitable to two new Geogians. The food was great!! Nothing fancy, just great authentic Italian. Reminds us of our favorite place back in NY. Three years later, we still ... read more
Just okay. Used to be better. – We took our parents here when they were in town. We had not been in a couple of years. The food was good but not outstanding as I had remembered it. We will choose someplace else to show off an Atlanta restaurant.
NAME CHANGED TO AMALFI – First thing to note, Salvatore has changed the name to Amalfi, so the sign is a little confusing. But the food hasn't change apparently. My wife and I are Italian food fanatics and I study the art of it myself. This is the closest to authentic I have tasted anywhere in the South. You cannot come here without getting the Mozarella starter, it is so amazing. I recommend the veal in the meat dishes, nice scallipone cuts cooked to perfection. The decor and atmosphere are nothing to write home about and t... read more
Better than being in Italy – This is my favorite Italian restaurant, bar none. When you walk in, it feels as if you're returning to a familiar family kitchen filled with all of your (favorite) relatives for a celebration centered around food, drinks and laughter. Family owned and operated by 3 generations of pure Italian heritage, this restaurant is a must on your list of new places to try. First time suggestions: Start out sharing the spicy calamari and/or the caprese salad followed by the gnocci for your main entree. Finis... read more
