Worst ER EVER! Do not take your loved ones to Summit! My 88 year old mother in law was taken to ER and was not seen by a doctor for over two hours! Finally after 5 hours, they sent an 88 year old woman home! It was one in the morning! I could go on and on but they will hear from me again!
Well, I know I posted a review a day ago and it has seemingly disappeared. Funny. However, I am totally unsatisfied with this hospital and how they handled my family after my sister died less than 24 hours of being admitted. No doctor came in to tell us what happened, the nurse told us what he "believed" happpened; however, no autopsy was done so we will never know what actually happened. I hate this hospital and pray that I never have to go to this one. Alta bates in Berkeley is fine, but the Oakland facility, fuck em.
The new hospital is state of the art. Even more important is the professional and caring staff. While a stay in the hospital is always a "scary" event the staff makes makes you feel very comfortable. Their knowledge and desire to help you through you "event" is very comforting.
