My son went for a visit and our in network copay should have been around $75. He confirmed with the practice that he was in network. When he returned for a second visit he was told that he owed $278 for the first visit and $278 for the current visit. He called BCBS and they confirmed that he should not owe this much. The only thing I don't appreciate is being told Dr denied my prescription out of the blue (no warning or communication from the Dr office) and it's the weekend and I now In stuck without meds all because they want me to book an appointment. Patients on mental health meds need their medication continuously without interruption. Why didn't the office just text or email well in advance saying I need to book an appointment so I am not stranded without meds.

It was only after jumping through all of the usual hoops to see a new provider that they informed me that ackshually this clinician isn't licensed to take my insurance. "Oh, interesting...I'll pay out of pocket then" "...unfortunately we can be fined for that."
