Set in a mountain valley between the Blue Ridge and the Black Mountains is a homey little inn known as Albert's Lodge. Seeing similarities to his home country, Albert decided to open the lodge in 1981 to adventurists and sightseers alike. It's now run by Van and Debbie, but the charm and comfort remains. A great place to stay if you're into outdoor adventures. Set in the black mountains of NC you awake to beautiful views and just about any outdoor adventure you're into awaits. Parks, trails and the Blue Ridge Parkway are all nearby. Van and Debbie will treat you like family and answer any questions you have. They've got cycles to rent and can provide repairs on your own bike if you need them too. Request the 'tree house'...it'll cost you a little more but it's worth it! Enjoy...
My stay was magical coming back July for more. Debbie and Ivan are magnificent hosts. Love it !
Great place friendly people unique location close to parkway and Mt. Mitchell.
Lovely place, friendly owners! The room was huge, with a kitchenette, desk, wi-fi, etc. - and absolutely fascinating view of Mt Mitchell. You can hike to Roaring Fork Falls right from the property. We will sure be back!

Views of Mount mitchell, and a deck facing it. Great place to stay if you are hiking. 10-15 mins to various trailheads at the base of the mountain. There is a stream in front of their parking lot. You can borrow/ rent bikes. I didn't ask. My room was too big as I went alone (100$ FOR 4) , but i needed a good sleep well. Clean, spacious, TV n all. Wish they had a bunkbed hostel like arrangement too.
